Stairecase right above the bed, (what? am i Harry Potter living in Uncle Vermon's house?) We booked a room with 2 beds but ended up getting only one bed. And this room is surrounded by various rooms on the second and third floor. From 6 am people started to walk up and down, it's like a freaking disco. The owner didn't even upload the photo of this crappy room. - that is false advertisement for starter. Before booking, we intentionally inquired whether the bathroom is within the bedroom, becuase we don't want public bathroom. The onwer told us it's "a suit, bathroom included". Turned out that two room shares a bathroom. And the neighbour had to use the bathroom at 1.5am. What gets worse, the insolation is soooo bad that we can hear every click of our neighbour's door lock turning. Even hostel won't have such unresonable setting. We were constantly woken up mid night. We ended up having only 4 hours of shut eyes, the second day we insisted that the owner provide a room that we asked for and promised in the first place, the owner said there's no other room available. We then suggested a refund, the owner said BOOKING inc managed the fee so they couldn't refund even if the agree to. We contacted Booking inc for a refund, customer service contacted the owner 3 times trying to get an agreement for a refund, the owner claimed "there's no other complaint regarding noise issue" and refused the request. Clearly they didn't want to own up to the fault. Noise and worst situation aside, let's talk about the room itself: no TV, mirror never cleaned, old furniture, hair dryer blow out dust... so very nasty environment.

This was a homestay- room with private entrance & bath in a family home near the MRT. Abdul & Fatima are wonderful hosts & we enjoyed sharing their home & meeting some of their family. We spent long hot days touring Singapore & loved returning to a residential area each night. It felt like coming home!

In spite of the shortcomings of the above point, both my husband and I enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

The outdoor patio is wonderful spot for chatting and relaxation. The common dining/breakfast room is excellent for interacting with staff and other guests. We love the architecture of the property, reflecting the traditional and tropical characteristics perfectly.

Shared bathroom "communication" between guests need to be reviewed for improvement. Can be cumbersome and disturbing with the door knocks when one is asleep. Also, if there are dirty nappies being disposed in the bathroom waste bin, it is an awful stench for the other guests sharing the bathroom. Suggest that they throw the soiled nappies in their own room waste bin.

An excellent accommodation if you are more into the Airbnb style of traveling.

Our hosts were very kind and welcoming. They shared their living space and also the kitchen with us. There was free breakfast and strong coffee available. Getting a glimpse into the life of a Muslim family was a nice experience we wouldn't have had at a hotel.

Singapore family homestay on vacation

Family home share with privacy for guests, brilliant value for me money, 6 minute relaxed walk to green tourist popular metro local line, host shared supper with us as family hospitality no cost, i arrived from airport at 10am and received early immediate check in and late check out at no cost with a smile and even got dropped of at metro for departure by host as kind gesture. Had 2 Rooms at home that were spacious and clean and fresh linen. We had exclusive excess to one bathroom. Full access to home kitchen, always clean and my family enjoyed the space, 100% value for money in singapore at close to 4 star standards.

Just remember you may have to share bathroom if you take 1 room only with co guests. Bathroom rain shower loose from the wall but simply to be fixed.

Real family in real family home, fabulous

This is more like a home-stay than a small hotel or bed and breakfast - you will share the kitchen/breakfast area often with family and family members and so get to know more about your host and family. I found staying with a Muslim family during Ramadhan something that really showed me about their faith and religion, and I feel privileged that the family shared with me, and invited me to share some of their evening meals after sunset. Add the convenient loction, close to public transport, and only a short taxi ride form the airport (ie, affordable!) and you will be so glad you could stay here!

The owners were very friendly and helpful, made sure I was comfortable, anything I needed was never too much trouble. Property is only a short walk to hawkers food markets and the station, and in o lovely quite area. It is a beautiful large home with many rooms, the room I stayed in was very comfortable with onsuite bathroom, and home has Wi-Fi throughout, I would have no hesitation in reccommending this place to stay

my room was on the ground floor next to the house living area so i got screaming kids during the day and continual noise during the night of people closing doors and moving around the house until 1.30 in the morning and starting again at 4.30 am

Kind, friendly, and informative hosts and staff.

Our hosts sent us pictures of our room way beforehand, gave instructions on how to get there, contacted us to ensure we got all we needed before leaving our country and made sure we got to the location well. It was a good 'base' as it is close to a MRT station, busstop and small food market place. It is in a safe and clean area. The host and staff gave us travel tips, children friendly location to visit (not crowded). The host had breakfast with us and made us feel welcome and at home. It is not a high-end hotel, it is a family home and that is what we needed for a first vaction with a 11 month old baby.

It is not the owners fault but mosquitoes are many in the dinning area. As it is an open space you can't protect against that.
